The Brief:
The Buzz Cafe is in a competitive market and needs to set its self apart in style. A rigid menu is required that can be printed inexpensively in low volume and be able to stand up to daily use. The cafe is targeted towards 18 to 30 year olds and the menu should suit attract this group and reflect the style of the cafe.
The Concept:
The cafe environment is an eclectic mix of furniture with a rich color palette situated in a historic brick building. The color palette chosen reflects the style of the environment and draws the attention of the age group. Since the majority of drinks served are hot the text layout follows the pattern of rising steam.
The Solution:
The menu was designed to print on 12x18 card stock on a digital printer to reduce the cost for short print runs. The final piece was trimmed and laminated to increase its durability. A younger model was used to entice the customers. Strong rich colors with high contrast make this menu stand out whilst still suiting the environment.
